The Mensa Admission Test takes between one to two hours to complete. A photo ID with proof of date of birth (or multiple forms that include a photo and date of birth) is required to take our test. Individuals may take a test or test battery once every eight weeks. If you’ve taken all available tests or test batteries and have not met the requirement to join, we encourage you to submit evidence of prior testing.

The Mensa Admission Test is given for the purpose of admission into Mensa and not to quantify intelligence. A qualifying score indicates that you’ve tested at, or above, 98 percent of the general population. We are not able to provide a detailed report with scores, percentile ranks, or your IQ score. Various Psychology Board of Texas regulations prohibit practitioners from releasing that information without providing a detailed interpretation of the results in relation to you. Additionally, we cannot provide candidates with one-on-one sessions to discuss the results to make sure candidates understand their results and their meaning.

Gifted Youth Admission

Due to age limitations, we’re unable to offer testing for individuals under the age of 14. However, we do encourage children younger than that to submit testing they have completed with a clinical psychologist or with their school. Visit our Gifted Youth Admission page for more information about the benefits of youth membership and how gifted kids can qualify and join.
