Trying to register for an American Mensa event?
As a current member of any National Mensa, you should receive member rates at our events! Transferring your membership to American Mensa
If you are a current or former member of another national Mensa and are currently living in the United States or its protectorates, you may transfer your membership to American Mensa by following these simple steps.
Contact Member Services with your full name, the country of your national Mensa, U.S. address and phone number, email address (if available), and date of birth. Your membership number and prior address may also help when verifying your membership.

We may also request a copy of your membership card or acceptance letter to confirm your membership. If you no longer have your membership card or acceptance letter, please include the country in which you were a member and the dates of your membership there. In these cases, we will contact your current national Mensa to confirm membership. Please allow additional time for this communication.
Joining American Mensa as a qualified candidate
If you qualified for membership with another national Mensa but never joined and are currently living in the United States or its protectorates, you may join American Mensa upon verification of your qualification.
Contact Member Services with your full name, the country of your national Mensa, U.S. address and phone number, email address, and date of birth.

We may also request a copy of your acceptance letter to confirm your membership. If you no longer have your acceptance letter, please include the country in which you qualified. In these cases, we will contact your current national Mensa to confirm your qualification. Please allow additional time for this communication.
Membership dues
Membership dues for American Mensa are $107/single year. Life Memberships are also available, based on your age at the time acceptable proof is received at the American Mensa National Office. Please note that Life Memberships are not transferable between national Mensas. Learn more about American Mensa’s dues structure.
If you are a current member of another national Mensa and transfer your membership to American Mensa, we will extend your membership through the end of our current membership year (March 31).
If you are a former member of another national Mensa and transfer your membership to American Mensa, we will send you a renewal bill via regular mail. After confirmation of your membership, you may also make your membership dues payment online.
Setting up an American Mensa website account
Current members of other National Mensas may create an American Mensa account to access to most areas of our website and receive member rates at American Mensa events.
To create an international member account, please send an email to Member Services with the following information:
Full name
Address
Email address
Country of membership
Membership # or card
Membership expiration date
We will confirm the expiration of your membership. Once this is confirmed, we will provide you with your access information via email. Your access will expire the day after your membership expires with the country where you reside. If you renew your membership prior to expiration, please contact us with your new expiration date.
