Victoria Liguez
Marketing Manager
Victoria Liguez joined the marketing team in 2011. She works with the National Marketing Director to implement the organization's overall marketing plan. She provides story pitches to the national media, creates and coordinates distribution of news releases, and works with the National Marketing Director to develop and maintain American Mensa’s marketing materials.
Victoria and the Marketing Team develop recruitment materials for use by Local Groups. She is the primary PR contact for Local Groups, assisting with their efforts by generating media lists and brainstorming ideas for publicity and marketing, as well as providing local PR coordinators with the tools they need to reach out to their respective communities. In addition, she compiles data regarding Local Group participation in Mensa Testing Days, coordinates press kits and other media outreach tools for the Annual Gathering and is the moderator for the PR Coordinators, Mind Games Attendees and Mensa Testing Day Planning elists.
For Mind Games®, Victoria works with the National Marketing Director to recruit manufacturers and works with winners to get the Mensa Select® Seal on their packaging, actively promoting the Mensa Select Seal as the "Good Housekeeping seal of approval" of board and card games. Additionally, she oversees list sales, works with Mensa International’s book publisher, coordinates the Mensa columns in American Way and Scientific American Mind magazines, and reviews and approves the Mensa Page-a-Day calendars.
Victoria has more than two decades of experience working as a communications professional. She developed her career working in radio, television and most recently a nonprofit community blood center. She earned her degree in mass communications at Texas Wesleyan University and serves on the board of Girls Inc. of Tarrant County. Her hobbies include biking, experimental cooking (much to her family’s chagrin), kickboxing and reading.
